Yoko Ono Lennon

John met Yoko in London in 1966 during a preview for her art exhibition. They became friends until 1968 when John fell in love with Yoko, divorcing Cynthia in 1968. They moved to New York in 1971, briefly separated in 1974 until reuniting and welcoming Sean in 1975. They were partners in art, film, music, and peace activists. On December 8, 1980, John was killed outside of their home in New York.

Understandably, as John left Cynthia for Yoko, their relationship was never easy especially when it came to Julian. Cynthia and Yoko had minimum contact for many years, although recently they have been on good terms. In 2006, Yoko, Cynthia, and Julian attended the Beatles and Cirque Du Soleil's LOVE show in Las Vegas, Nevada; in 2010 Yoko, Cynthia, and Sean attended Julian's first photography exhibition Timeless in New York City, New York. Yoko was sadden about Cynthia's death, releasing both a statement and an essay in tribute for Rolling Stone magazine in 2015.

Although Maureen was close to Cynthia, she accepted John's relationship with Yoko along with Ringo during the Lennons' divorce; however they were not very close.

Barbara Bach Starkey

Ringo met Barbara on the set of 'Cavemen' in 1980; Ringo was already divorced from Maureen and was having several relationships during that time while Barbara was also divorced from a few years with two children. They got married in 1981 with their daughters as bridesmaids and have been together ever since.

Although not much as been said about the relationship between Maureen and Barbara, Ringo has always considered Maureen to be a part of his family and was at her bedside when she died in 1994. Barbara is close to their children, Zak, Jason, and Lee.

Ringo informed Maureen and Cynthia by phone about John's death in 1980 while he was on holiday with Barbara. Cynthia and Barbara have encountered quite a few known times since then: in 1988, Ringo, Barbara, Pattie, and Cynthia attended a social event in London and in 2006 Ringo, Barbara, and Cynthia attended the Beatles and Cirque du Soleil's LOVE premiere in Las Vegas. After hearing about Cynthia's death in 2015, Ringo released a tweet

Peace and love to Julian Lennon God bless Cynthia love Ringo and Barbara xx
